Humanities Conference Rooms

CMRS-CEGS schedules the Humanities Conference Room (Royce 314) and the Herbert Morris Seminar Room (Royce 306) for the Division of Humanities. UCLA academic departments, centers, institutes, and other official UCLA organizations may rent these rooms. Student groups may not reserve these rooms independently. Reservations for student events must be sponsored by an administrative unit and made by that office.

The rental rate for each room is $250 per day or any portion thereof.

Important notice: All set-up, clean-up, and audio-visual technical support are the responsibilities of the person/group renting these rooms. Please read the Information and Terms of Use for the room you have reserved.

Key Pick-up & Return: Please be aware that the Humanities Conference Rooms are not unlocked/locked by Facilities. No one will unlock/lock the rooms for you on the day of your event. If catering or equipment are being delivered for your event, you must meet the delivery people to unlock the room and let them in. At the end of the event, the room’s renter is responsible for ensuring that the room is locked and the keys are returned to Royce 302.

Key pick-up hours are by appointment. Please email RoyceConfRooms@humnet.ucla.edu at least 1 week in advance to schedule an appointment.

EOL Registration is required. All events taking place in Royce 306 and 314 must be included in the Events On Line (EOL) calendar. If you have not yet been designated a Registrant in EOL, please call the System Administrator at x63274 or x58989.


HERBERT MORRIS HUMANITIES SEMINAR ROOM

ROYCE 306 is a seminar room (maximum capacity 50) equipped with two large, wood tables on wheels and 47 chairs. An additional 12 stacking chairs are available in the room. Tables and chairs can be rearranged in the room as required.

AV support is not available for events but a demonstration of the system can be scheduled in advance of the event through Humtech support. There are two large monitors on moveable carts with a computer, microphones, speakers, and camera. Please read the how-to guide for the room’s AV system.

The loggia above the front entrance to Royce Hall is accessed through Royce 306. Food and refreshments for events in Royce 306 should be set up on the loggia and not in the seminar room itself. Several plastic folding tables are available on the loggia. No heating units are allowed on the loggia. No smoking is allowed in Royce Hall or on the loggia.

HUMANITIES CONFERENCE ROOM

ROYCE 314 is a large conference room (maximum capicity 120) with a stage and podium at the west end of the room. The room has 120 stacking chairs that can be arranged as required.

Please read the how-to guide for the room’s AV system. AV support is not available for events but a demonstration of the system can be scheduled in advance of the event through Humtech support. Audiovisual equipment available in the room includes podium microphone, hand-held wireless microphone, digital projector, camera, Blu-ray DVD player, and computer.

There is a kitchen adjacent to the Humanities Conference Room equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and sink.
