Research

UCLA’s Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies promotes and sustains transdisciplinary studies of the periods from late antiquity to the early modern era across the globe. Five main research axes structure the polyvalent and multi-faceted inquiry of the Center’s diverse faculty. Our programs enable scholars and students to present their research and refine their scholarship. Our publications present the latest studies by authors in the field. We also provide administrative support for faculty research projects and offer resources to scholars and students.

We are an Organized Research Unit of the University of California which is tasked with contributing to and strengthening interdisciplinary programs of research and teaching conducted by the faculty, as well as providing graduate and post-doctoral students with added research opportunities, facilities, and assistance.
