Apply Now for Editorial Positions: Comitatus Volume 52 (2021)

Published: November 13, 2020

Comitatus is the CMRS-sponsored graduate research journal, featuring the work of graduate students and recent PhDs in any field of medieval or Renaissance studies. The annual journal is distributed internationally to libraries and individuals and is part of the Project MUSE online collection.

The Comitatus Editor organizes and oversees the Editorial Board’s evaluation of all submissions, runs the annual Editorial Board meeting, and collates and delivers editorial feedback for all submissions. Depending on availability and interest, the Editor may also help the Managing Editor with copyediting, proofreading, and other aspects of the journal’s production. Prospective Editors must have previously served on the Comitatus editorial board. The bulk of the Editor’s work will take place from March to May and August to September 2021. To be considered for the position, please request the Editor questionnaire from Allison McCann and return it by December 1, 2020. You will then be asked to complete two short editing exercises.

Members of the Editorial Board read and evaluate essay submissions to Comitatus. At the annual meeting of the Editorial Board, members discuss their evaluations and select the top eight papers to be published in that year’s volume. Board members can expect the bulk of their responsibilities to take place between March and May 2021. There is no limit to the number of members, and seats are filled with the aim of achieving broad disciplinary representation in the study of medieval and early modern worlds. If you’d like to serve on the Comitatus 52 Editorial Board, please request the Editorial Board questionnaire from Allison McCann and return it by December 1, 2020.
