CMRS-CEGS announces sponsorship of seven panels at upcoming annual meeting of RSA Chicago 2024

We are proud to share that UCLA CMRS Center for Early Global Studies (CMRS-CEGS) is sponsoring seven panels at the upcoming annual meeting of the Renaissance Society of America Chicago 2024.
 
One panel on Chivalry and Nobility in the Late Medieval and Early Modern Spanish World, organized by Samuel A Claussen, Thomas C. Devaney, Richard P. Ibarra, and Elizabeth Ashcroft Terry-Roisin. 
 
A three-panel series on “Ecologies of Decay and Regeneration in Art, Literature, and Science” (see here Panel IPanel II, and Panel III), organized by Javier Patiño Loira. 
 
A three-panel series on “Moving Ideas in the Iberian Worlds” (see here Panel IPanel II, and Panel III), organized by Marta Albalá Pelegrin and Maria Vittoria Spissu.
 
The RSA Chicago 2024 program features four panels on “Italian Humanism and Mediterranean Philosophies: In Memory of Michael J. B. Allen” (Panel IPanel IIPanel III, and Panel IV). Michael J.B. Allen served as Director of CMRS-CEGS from 1988-1993. 
 
The sponsored sessions have been curated by Javier Patiño Loira (UCLA, Spanish & Portuguese) and sessions in memory of Michael J. B. Allen are co-organized by UCLA visiting Van Dyck Chair, Andrea Aldo Robiglio (KU Leuven, Philosophy).
