CMRS is pleased to co-sponsor the Program for Early Modern Southeast Asia workshop “Historicizing Disaster Risk Management: The Ecology of Mt. Isarog and its Environs,” This series of eight panel discussions takes place in August and September 2021. CMRS faculty member Professor Stephen Acabado (Department of Anthropology, UCLA) coordinated the workshop and has assembled many trans-Pacific contributors for the wide-ranging series.
The discussions will provide multidisciplinary integration on issues of diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility concerning the economic and social transformations that accompanied the Early Modern period in this area of the Phillipines and Southeast Asia.
