Raphaëlle Burns and Javier Patiño Loira, CMRS-CEGS Faculty members, received 2024 I Tatti fellowships

Congratulations to two of our CMRS-CEGS Faculty members, Raphaëlle Burns and Javier Patiño Loira, who were awarded fellowships at I Tatti for the 2024-25 academic year!

Raphaëlle Burns is an assistant professor of European Languages and Transcultural Studies whose research focuses on ethics and the transmission of knowledge in early modern literature. As a fellow of I Tatti, she will work towards completing her book Novellas, News, and the Uses of Casuistry in Early Modern Europe.

Javier Patiño Loira is an assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese whose research focuses on early modern Spain and Italy. As a fellow of I Tatti, he will work towards completing his second book, Ecologies of Decay: Spontaneous Generation and Nature’s Economy.
