Beginning this fall, CMRS will be hosting twice-monthly “Works-in-Progress Happy Hours” to promote intellectual exchange and collegiality, while most of us will be continuing to work and learn remotely. The Happy Hours will be scheduled from 5 to 6 pm via Zoom and are open to UCLA faculty and graduate students. They will consist of a short (as short as 5 minutes and no more than 15 minutes), informal presentation, followed by open discussion.
Many forms in different stages can be proposed: articles and book chapters in progress, book proposals, grant proposals, and dissertation proposals can be pre-circulated. Brainstorming sessions (5-minute presentation) around an idea or object are also very welcome. We also invite students to present papers they were not able to deliver because of conference cancellations. When proposing a session, please indicate if your topic relates to the CMRS Research Axes.
Sessions are scheduled for October 7 and 21, 2020; November 4 and 18, 2020; January 13 and 27, 2021; February 10 and 24, 2021.
